Simple, Responsive Website Design

Parks Family Dental was the first client website I created with Studio 44. I started by looking over other dentists’ websites to better understand the needs. By doing this, I saw that many medical websites had a module for customers to set up an appointment without calling in. There were other great features like CRM Databases for patients, health web forms, and testimonial plugins.

Responsiveness was another big thing I wanted to include in this site and all sites I create. Many people go online through a number of devices so it is very important that the website is usable on all platforms.

After mocking up a design in Photoshop, I met with the client to go over his business needs for the website. He was very satisfied with the design and didn’t want to change much. I still pushed farther to try and get a better understanding of his business. My design wasn’t perfect and I wanted to get him to open up about what he wants for his business.

The client then told me that he specializes in family care as well as elderly patients. He also wanted to underline the friendly environment his clinic provides as well as include testimonials as evidence

This information helped me convey a tone and create a user inferface to compliment it. He wanted to keep it simple, which is exactly what I did. The menu on top is very clean with no dropdowns and I placed two big buttons for the directions and appointment module in the top right corner for easy access. The phone number is also a link that will call the clinic if you’re searching with a smart phone.

I was very fortunate to have this client as my first. He sent me content in a timely response and his basic web design knowledge allowed him to communicate his ideas more clearly with me.
