SD Rapid Response Network

This is a website I built for the San Diego Rapid Response Network. They didn't have an existing website so I was able to jump into this project with a clean slate. This website would mostly be used to provide support to immigrants and refugees. We also wanted it to be news-focused and provide stats and resources to other organizations.

Challenge: Had only a few weeks to build it. Very short turnaround time.

Solution: Using a pre-existing template that I modified to fit their needs. This included coding the horizontal split in the navigation, creating a new layout template for the news items, and making a custom CTA block for the emergency phone line.

Challenge: Security issues because of the divisive politics surrounding immigration and asylum.

Solution: We had already started the process of moving our websites to Cloudflare so that we had some protection against DDoS attacks and hackers. We moved the site to that plan and blocked several countries that most of these attacks come from. This was a local organization that mostly dealt with immigrants already here or in Mexico so blocking other countries made sense.

After the site was launched, I continued making updates to it and improving the interface. Unfortunately, the website is no longer up, but in the time it was around, it helped a lot of people find resources and connect to attorneys to take on their immigration cases.
